Adaminaby CBD Beautification Projects
We have been successful in obtaining a number of grants from the NSW Government under the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Package.
This is part of the $4.5 billion bushfire support program co-funded by the Australian and NSW governments for bushfire recovery, response and preparedness in NSW. This is a tremendous reward for the team that put together the applications.
Two of these successful grants will directly benefit Adaminaby:
1. Funding to improve drainage and seal Lucas Street, to improve drainage along the Un-Named Laneway that connects Druitt and Baker Streets to the east of Denison Street, construct footpaths along Denison Street and install kerb & guttering along Baker Street. These works will improve the amenity of the town as well as improve pedestrian and road-user safety.
2. Funding to improve tourism infrastructure in Adaminaby, specifically near public toilets. The area in front of the public toilets has become an eyesore, especially after heavy rain. The project includes funding to build infrastructure and will include the construction of a parking area specifically suitable for cars and caravans only, which will also give motorists access to the local shops, thereby improving the economic viability of the town.
Further targeted consultation is continuing in regards to the construction of a separate truck parking area. Public consultation on this portion of the project will resume shortly.
It is hoped that these projects will improve the economic sustainability of the businesses in the town by presenting attractive and inviting rest areas for visitors and community members.
In summary, the plans are broken down into the following:
• Install kerb and guttering in Baker Street
• Install and/or replace footpath in Denison Street
• Upgrade Lucas Street
• Upgrade the Un-Named Laneway, east of Denison Street
You can download a copy of these plans from our document section on this page.
This phase of the consultation has now closed, as of Thursday 28 October 2021. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback.
