Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2024 – 2028 by 16 June 2024. Our team is now reviewing all the submissions and a final report will be submitted for approval later this year.

Thank you to those who completed our survey and participated in interviews to inform the draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2024-2028.

All feedback received was reviewed and a report was prepared for Council consideration. Council approved the draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2024-2028 to be placed on public exhibition, at the Council's meeting held on 16 May 2024.

Background

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is in the final stages of developing the next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) for 2024-2028, which guides our work to improve access and inclusion for people with disabilities.

We would like to thank all community members who have contributed their feedback to make our region more inclusive and accessible. The feedback we received via our survey and interviews has been incorporated into the draft DIAP now on exhibition.

The DIAP sets out a four-year roadmap for a more inclusive, accessible and connected Snowy Monaro region for people with disability. It explains the steps that Council, its partners and our community can take to ensure everyone has access to services, facilities, events and information.

If you are a person living with disability, family member, caregiver, service provider, business or if you are interested in creating an environment that is accessible and inclusive, we want to hear from you. It is important that the draft plan is developed in consultation with the whole community.
