This consultation closed at 5pm Friday 13 May 2022. Thank you to those who provided input during this public exhibition period.
Council is required to adopt a code of meeting practice within the first 12 months of a local government election. The new Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW was prescribed in November 2021.
Council has drafted a new Code of Meeting Practice, based on the model code, which is now available for public comment. The submission period for comments will end on 13 May 2022. The model code has mandatory and non-mandatory elements. The elements shown in black are mandatory and may not be removed or diluted. The elements shown in red are discretionary recommendations from the model code and aresubject to modification or removal.
The final draft will be presented at the council meeting on 16 June 2022.
