Consultation has concluded

Thank you to those who provided input to help inform our financial sustainability review consultation that closed at 11.59pm Sunday 6 November 2022.

BACKGROUND

Snowy Monaro Regional Council (SMRC) has engaged AEC Group Ltd (AEC) to undertake a Financial Sustainability Review, including providing an independent assessment of the financial sustainability of SMRC and recommended strategies to improve the financial position of the Council.

Council has asked AEC to review Council’s financial history and current situation to make recommendations to ensure Council’s financial sustainability. In addition, AEC is undertaking an independent community survey and will present those to Council in November.

AEC has been reviewing and analysing Council’s financial activity pre and post-merger to collate a clear picture of past financial performance, current activity and are drafting a clear plan for the future. The final report, recommendations and results of the community survey will be presented at the Council Meeting on Thursday 17 November 2022.

This document has been prepared by AEC to provide information to the community to enable an informed view to be shared in the survey and written submissions.

PROVIDING YOUR INPUT

To inform the review and the considerations of the Council, AEC has developed the following community survey enabling community members to participate and share views on the financial sustainability of the Council and options for improvement. In addition to the community survey, community members and organisations are encouraged to share their views to further inform future decision-making.
