Consultation has concluded

Council is proposing to replace the lighting along the promenade at the Jindabyne Town Centre and has installed two proposed new light fixtures on the current light poles at the southern end of the promenade.

The aim of installing new lighting is to provide better lighting to the promenade, reduce the environmental impact by reducing the power usage significantly, and to ensure that the new lighting will withstand the strong winds that have destroyed the current lighting.

Council is looking to reduce our environmental footprint by installing LED lighting whilst ensuring that the new light fixtures illuminate the area adequately. Whilst solar lighting was one option considered by Council, the installation of solar lighting involved removing all of the current light poles and installing new light poles as well as the new lights and this did not prove to be economically viable.
