Snowy Monaro Arts and Culture Discussion Paper

Our Snowy Monaro has a thriving arts and culture sector. It's widely recognised a key ingredient to a vibrant, inclusive and connected community is a thriving creative sector.

Now we need to develop a strong and cohesive framework to give further momentum to bring the arts, culture and creativity into every day for everyone and further develop the economic benefit.

The formation of the SMRC Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, and its carriage of this Discussion Paper and an ensuing Arts, Creativity and Cultural Strategic Plan, has created an opportunity to work with the community with the goal of bringing together previous approaches and defining a new set of creative industry priorities for the region.

We want to have a discussion with you and listen to your thoughts and suggestions on how you think this Plan could progress and what it could potentially look like.

Have your say on the Discussion Paper

This Discussion Paper has been developed to create discussion amongst decision-makers, thinkers, those who actively participate and engage in the arts, as well as encourage the broader community to better understand and appreciate the contribution arts makes to our society and its’ role in developing a sense of ‘who we are’.

A series of questions have been put together to allow our community to have their say on the Discussion Paper. The questions can be found in the survey below.

Before you start providing feedback, we recommend having a read of the Discussion Paper (available for download to the right of your screen) and having it open as you complete the questions. The questions relate to specific sections of the Discussion Paper.

Feedback will be accepted until 5pm Sunday 18 October 2020.

Submissions can be made by completing the below survey, or in writing to the Chief Executive Officer.
