Be the change - Your say Snowy Monaro
Consultation has concluded
We need our community to have their say to inform the development of our Snowy Monaro Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP is a 20 year strategic plan that takes community insight and aspirations to form objectives and strategies to enhance our region. Council is the custodian of this plan which is achieved by all regional stakeholders, including community members.
The CSP objectives are reviewed by incoming Councillors to set the direction, by determining which objectives they will work to achieve, for their four year term.

Mayor for a day
over 6 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded. If you were Mayor for a day what would be the one thing you would do?
jindy1almost 7 years agoWinter street enhancement in Jindabyne
Enhance the Kosciuszko Road entrance coming into town (by the church), through town along with Banjo Patterson Park with a mass display of fairy lights entwined through the trees to enhance the winter atmosphere.
0Maree Eisholdalmost 7 years agoI would create a bus service to service Jindabyne
0Katiecarlislealmost 7 years agoAdd a set of lights to the CBD
I took my children shopping today and had trouble crossing the road in the CBD. A set of lights could provide a safe way to cross the street.
0Jennifer Farrellalmost 7 years agoAll main roads through CBDs in The Snowy Monaro to be 30kmh
Last week I watched a child run out on Maybe Street Bombala as a Truck barrelled down the street, the resulting heavy braking, noise, dust etc from the near miss was frightening, Maybe Street is a thouroughfare for Trucks and Cars but is also a shopping precinct, kids get off busses and elderly walk very slowly accross the road, 30kmh signs need to be erected and police need to be visible.
3gwil3406almost 7 years agoI would ban all motor driven water craft and free camping within 100 metres of the intakes to Jindabyne and Berridales town water supply.
The Seista Villa bay at East Jindabyne was a pristine example of a balanced community and service infrastructure water collection facility. Now one development is able to essentially control the bays future. With advertising and mowing encouraging vehicles and boat access to this bay,it won't be long before the towns water supply point is used as a mooring. The writer has witnessed fishing boats tied to our water intakes and chemical toilets from free campers being emptied within fifty metres of the water inlets. The bay is silting up as the poor streams feeding the bay have moved from free flow natural water courses to urban effected drainage creeks. Leadership is required in East Jindabyne that has a constructive and holistic community focus for appropriate long term vision and infrastructure management.

CBD Enhancement
over 6 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded. What would you do to make our CBD areas throughout the region a better place to visit?
derektalmost 7 years agoFive star accommodation
Higher quality hotel for more demanding visitors, with secure under cover parking and classy feel, (see Katoomba for ideas?)
2Business Owneralmost 7 years agoRemove used car lot eyesore next to memorial hall and turn it into a town centre
Need to connect the 2 town centres in Jindabyne with foot paths and put in a town center in the town centre!! Put in carpark, library, heritage items. May need to demolish or recycle the Memorial Hall.
3Dotalmost 7 years agoSupport small business, to fill the empty shops!!!
10mmackinnonalmost 7 years agoProvide pedestrian access to Lake Jindabyne every 100m along all residential developments on its foreshore.
4snowmikealmost 7 years agoRefurbish exterior and interior of Memorial Hall Jindabyne
As the hall is now looking very dated in its 1960's decor, it is time to repaint or reclad the exterior of the hall and up date and modernise the interior. The hall is still very functional and useful to the community for many events throughout the year. Due to its central location it is important that the building reflects the modern and dynamic nature of the township while retaining its function as a venue for important community events.
