Be the change - Your say Snowy Monaro
Consultation has concluded

We need our community to have their say to inform the development of our Snowy Monaro Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP is a 20 year strategic plan that takes community insight and aspirations to form objectives and strategies to enhance our region. Council is the custodian of this plan which is achieved by all regional stakeholders, including community members.
The CSP objectives are reviewed by incoming Councillors to set the direction, by determining which objectives they will work to achieve, for their four year term.

Mayor for a day
over 3 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded. If you were Mayor for a day what would be the one thing you would do?
gwil3406almost 4 years agoI would ban all motor driven water craft and free camping within 100 metres of the intakes to Jindabyne and Berridales town water supply.
The Seista Villa bay at East Jindabyne was a pristine example of a balanced community and service infrastructure water collection facility. Now one development is able to essentially control the bays future. With advertising and mowing encouraging vehicles and boat access to this bay,it won't be long before the towns water supply point is used as a mooring. The writer has witnessed fishing boats tied to our water intakes and chemical toilets from free campers being emptied within fifty metres of the water inlets. The bay is silting up as the poor streams feeding the bay have moved from free flow natural water courses to urban effected drainage creeks. Leadership is required in East Jindabyne that has a constructive and holistic community focus for appropriate long term vision and infrastructure management.
0Jennifer Farrellalmost 4 years agoAll main roads through CBDs in The Snowy Monaro to be 30kmh
Last week I watched a child run out on Maybe Street Bombala as a Truck barrelled down the street, the resulting heavy braking, noise, dust etc from the near miss was frightening, Maybe Street is a thouroughfare for Trucks and Cars but is also a shopping precinct, kids get off busses and elderly walk very slowly accross the road, 30kmh signs need to be erected and police need to be visible.
3marialinkover 3 years agoI would spend the day visiting as many towns as I could and talking to the ratepayers
The Mayor needs to be in touch with what people are really thinking and saying
0Maree Eisholdover 3 years agoI would create a bus service to service Jindabyne

CBD Enhancement
over 3 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded. What would you do to make our CBD areas throughout the region a better place to visit?
marialinkover 3 years agoA quiet and sophisticated Coffee Lounge in Jindabyne
Could not find a place for morning tea inside and out of the cold recently
1TomCondonalmost 4 years agoJindabyne Skatepark upgrade
Jindabyne skatepark is a great place for the regions youth and others to enjoy as well as tourists The park is getting old and does not have enough space (especially in winter) or beginner areas. An upgrade would not only be enjoyed by local residents and encourage more kids to engage in outdoor activities around town but would also bring more tourists to the town.
3derektalmost 4 years agoFive star accommodation
Higher quality hotel for more demanding visitors, with secure under cover parking and classy feel, (see Katoomba for ideas?)
2Stephensalmost 4 years agoA skate park for Adaminaby.
There is basically zero decent recreational facilities that are safely accessible to the youth and visitors of Adaminaby.. We have two less than average unsafe parks, surely one park area incorporating a skate park, childrens play area and picnic area would benifit not only the children of the town, but the many vistors that stop at Adaminaby throughout Summer and Winter.
2Didiover 3 years agoRail bikes
Existing rail track could be used for tourism - see eg https://www.visitnorway.com/places-to-go/southern-norway/listings-lister/rail-biking-tour-in-flekkefjord/5395/
