Consultation has concluded
Supported by the NSW Government Stronger Communities Fund – Major Projects Program (SCFMPP) Snowy Monaro Regional Council is looking forward to be working with the local community to deliver heritage themed improvements to the Nimmitabel streetscape.
A well supported meeting held in May at the Nimmitabel Community Hall allowed council staff and project design consultant to listen and capture the community’s voice regarding the type and style of improvements to be considered for the township streetscape project.
With a mixed theme of heritage, timber, wool and recent festivals such as Steampunk and the ever popular Nimmitabel Show, the townships has a diverse mix of interest and activities for both residents and visitors.
Recent additions of street trees and blisters have been identified as areas that would benefit from a face lift as well as aligning the street furniture, traffic bollards, plaza fencing and street lighting to a more heritage style theme.
To add to the project, dedicated long vehicle parking and an RV dump point at Lake Williams rest area have also been included in the proposal to attract visitors to stop, rest and patronise the local businesses.
