Thank you for your feedback on Council's draft Active Transport Plan, a strategy to enhance shared path networks throughout our region. We are now reviewing the comments received.

Consultation process to date

Walking and bike riding is the most sustainable form of transport. They contribute to great places, cleaner local environments, healthier lifestyles and provide economic benefits to local communities.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council have teamed up with consultants from Currajong Pty Ltd to undertake a new Active Transport Plan (ATP) for our region. The strategy identifies the gaps in our existing shared path network and provides a plan for new footpath and cycleway projects in order of priority. The ATP will assist Council in seeking full or co-funding opportunities for future infrastructure to be constructed.

Council received feedback via a series of workshops and an online survey, undertaken in September 2023. A total of 144 survey responses were received and 28 attended a workshop. A total of 17 respondents used the interactive mapping tool to submit their comments.

How do I find the draft plan for my town or village?

Each major town and village has its own Active Transport Plan. This includes:

  • Analysis of the issues and current situation
  • Results from the audit and community consultation
  • Map showing proposed new infrastructure (pathway extensions, pedestrian crossings, refuge islands, trip facilities)
  • Priorities and action sheet- project description and priority ranking

You will find a link directly to the ATP document on the right of the screen on a PC and at the bottom of the page on a smartphone or tablet.
