Consultation has concluded
Thank you for your feedback on Council's Active Transport Plan, a strategy to enhance shared path networks throughout our region.
Snowy Monaro Active Transport Plan
Walking and bike riding is the most sustainable form of transport. They contribute to great places, cleaner local environments, healthier lifestyles and provide economic benefits to local communities.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council teamed up with consultants from Currajong Pty Ltd to undertake a new Active Transport Plan (ATP) for our region. The strategy identifies the gaps in our existing shared path network and provides a plan for new footpath and cycleway projects in order of priority. The ATP will assist Council in seeking full or co-funding opportunities for future infrastructure to be constructed.
Council received feedback via a series of workshops and an online survey, undertaken in September 2023. A total of 144 survey responses were received and 28 attended a workshop. A total of 17 respondents used the interactive mapping tool to submit their comments.
Where we are at?
Snowy Monaro Regional Council adopted the SMRC Active Transport Plan, excluding the Bredbo village plan, at its ordinary meeting on Thursday 20 June 2024. Council resolved to undertake further consultation with the Bredbo community before included the final recommendations with the rest of the ATP.
How do I find the plan for my town or village?
Each major town and village has its own Active Transport Plan. This includes:
Priorities and action sheet- project description and priority ranking
You will find a link directly to the ATP document on the right of the screen on a PC and at the bottom of the page on a smartphone or tablet.
