Consultation has concluded
We are seeking community input on the impacts of tourism within our region. Please complete our survey, which should take around 10 minutes, to share your feedback before the extended deadline of 11.59pm Friday 31 May 2024.
As a thank you for your time and contribution, everyone who completes the survey will also go into a draw to win one of ten $50 gift vouchers that can be redeemed at the Cooma or Bombala visitor centres.
Background
Snowy Monaro Regional Council has commissioned an inaugural survey to gather local views on tourism in the Snowy Monaro region. The survey asks about your experiences of visitor activity in our region (the good and the not-so-good), how you would like to see tourism in our region developed and promoted, and the kinds of visitor activities that you think are important.
This is the first time a survey of this type has been undertaken across all of Snowy Monaro. Your feedback will play an important role in shaping how tourism develops in our community and help us ensure a sustainable future for our region. It will inform Council’s new Tourism Strategy which will replace the current Destination Management Plan that expires this year. Your answers will assist in setting directions, priorities and actions in the new strategy.
For local tourism businesses, the results will provide important guidance on what the community values, and the kinds of activities or experiences that they would like to see.
Yes, the survey is strictly confidential: all responses will be combined before results are reported, and no individual will be identified.
Who can take part in the survey?
Anyone aged 18 years or more who lives or owns property in the Snowy Monaro region can participate in this survey.
What will happen with the results of the survey?
The results will be shared in a report prepared for Snowy Monaro Regional Council. A summary highlighting key results will be shared with the community after the report is received. More detailed information will be released when the draft Tourism Strategy goes on public exhibition.
Or if you wish to speak to Council more broadly about the survey you can contact Jemima Trigg by email jemima.trigg@snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au or by phone on 0428 481 094.
